Energy Solutions is a global nuclear services company headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, with operations across the United States, Canada, and Japan. As an industry leader, the company specializes in the safe recycling, processing, and disposal of nuclear materials. Energy Solutions offers a comprehensive suite of Decommissioning and Decontamination (D&D) services for the shutdown of nuclear power plants. Its client base includes the U.S. Government, all nuclear power plants in the United States, as well as a range of medical and research institutions.
The Challenge
Energy Solutions aimed to enhance its business intelligence capabilities to gain more accurate and timely insights. However, the existing Oracle reporting system and OBIEE struggled to deliver real-time data essential for critical decision-making. Data integration delays further hindered timely analytics. Acknowledging the need for a more agile and modern solution, Energy Solutions partnered with TechWish to begin migrating to Incorta, a next-generation business intelligence platform.
The Solution
After identifying the dashboards and reports targeted for migration, the TechWish development team began building a robust data pipeline aligned with the client’s reporting requirements. Utilizing Incorta Data Apps, the team quickly constructed the EBS schema within days. Data from Oracle EBS, SAP, and SQL Server was seamlessly integrated through a streamlined ETL process. Schemas were built in Incorta, and key business KPIs were developed accordingly.
TechWish conducted a thorough assessment of the client’s reporting needs, replicating and enhancing existing OBIEE reports within Incorta. Impressively, five reports were successfully developed within the first month, each matching the accuracy of the legacy system. Additionally, a comprehensive security and governance model was implemented to democratize data access and ensure compliance.
